This 1948 CJ-2A, belonged to my farther who passed away in 1987. He served in the US Navy for over 22 years before his death. This Jeep was his pride and joy. He was always tinkering with it and taking the family out four wheeling. After his death, it sat covered in a field for over 20 years. It was always my dream to restore this for him, because I had so many memories of him with this Jeep. As you can see in the “before” and after photo it was not in good shape after sitting all those years. In 2007, with the assistance of 4wdspecialties, I had a complete off frame restoration of this 48 Willys CJ-2A, that took almost one year to complete. I kept the original motor and transmission even kept it a six volt system. Now as shown in the “after” pictures, it has been restored to it’s original glory in honor of my father.

TO ALL YOUNG JEEP RESTORE’S THAT KEEP THEM STOCK!
First When You Take Off In Fist ( 1 ) As You Shift Second ( 2 ) Push The Clutch In Come To Neutral, Let Out On The Clutch And Push Back In To Hit Second ( 2 ) And The Same With Third ( 3 )
Once You Get the Hang of DOUBLE CLUTCHING You Will See It Will Be A Lot Easier To Shift!

Great work! I love those BFG’s. The black trim edging is a nice touch.
Perhaps your father was always close by?
Wow you are doing a good job. I’m also restoring 1954 willy jeep cj3A or cj2A. It’s fun.
Looks Great!!! You did a really nice job and I like that it reminds you of your father. Enjoy driving it this summer.
Best Regards, Rodney
Nice job,he be proud seeing you drive it. I was in the navy & can understand his feeling for the willys. You should find out his favorite ship he liked. Put the name & numbers on it. You see a lot of army ones, but very few navy ones. GOOD JOB
You got it done and he’s proud.
