1946 Willys, we were able to use all running gear all original to the Jeep the only thing that we replaced was the tub. All of the other parts were ordered from Kaiser Willys. We have donated the use of the Jeep to the Alden Veterans. We decided to have the veterans sign under the hood. Some people from WWII, to the seal team six, to the first seals ( under water demolitions ). Last year we were at a car show and one of the men that signed the hood was reading the names when he said that he knew one of the names. He served with him on a sub. I told him that his buddy was at the show. They have not seen one another since 1955. What a reunion!
James,
I am a retired Navy O6 (35 years) and also have a Navy Shore Patrol Jeep (’48 CJ2). I would like to share some photos, I am particularly interested in the stenciling on the hood near the windshield and also your interior.
Thanks Gary
