This MB has been in our family for over a half a century. Purchased by my uncle in the early 1960s and used at our family cabin in the Sierra Nevada mountains for fishing and hunting. I drove this Willys in high school and graduated in 1971. The uncle who purchased this Willys in the early 1960s and my father both served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific theater. When the Willys had a complete restoration ten years ago it was restored as a Navy Jeep as a tribute to their service during WWII. Dad served as a radarman on the USS Wileman, which was Destroyer Escort DE-22; hence the appropriate markings on the Willys. Dad was able to see the completed restoration and ride in it before his passing a few years ago. The 1942 Waco biplane was a WWII era US Navy airplane — the same type of aircraft my uncle trained on as a Navy Aviator.
