Yard Sale Willy! I purchased this M38 from an elderly gentlemen in my Church. I had spotted it in his yard and inquired about it. He was reluctant to sell so I began a friendship with him, telling him all I knew about the M38. I would tease him about coming over and putting a cover over it or offer to help him get it out of the weather. I think his wife was beginning to wear on him and about a year later, he asked me if I was interested in buying a jeep! I said, “if it’s priced right!” He assured me it would be. I went to his home the next week and struck a deal with him. Not only for the M38 but he threw in a nearly mint M416 1/4 Ton trailer full of jeep parts as well! I couldn’t be happier with my purchase and have begun collecting original military parts to use in the restoration. It is currently resting in a barn safe and dry until I can do a complete rebuild. The first two photos are immediately after getting the jeep and trailer home. The third is M38 paitently waiting in the barn or restoration to begin.
