My Grandpa purchased this 1949 Willys CJ-3A in 1953. It was his daily driver for a couple of decades. He gave it to my Dad in 1973. My dad drove it very little, and then fired it up again in the early 80’s for me and my sisters to drive around on our property.
November of 2016, after years of bugging him, he said just take it….. and I DID!!!! He helped with every step of the restoration. All of the new pieces and parts came from Kaiser Willys. It is pretty much original. I had to purchase a new tub and gas tank. Upgraded to a 12 volt system, LED tail lights and added blinkers. My mom made slip covers for the original seats. The local body shop did the body work and a beautiful new blue paint job. I sincerely could not be happier!

Possibly I am. I owned a V-6Cj2A and was a go-4-wheeler for many years. Dave Jones
A lady after my own heart! Who says girls can’t drive boys toys?
You definitely have a piece of family history to be proud of!
Beautiful! Keep it in the family!
Rachel, I reread what I wrote earlier and I didn’t mean to sound like a jerk.
Your jeep is beautiful, well done!
Dave jones commented, was wondering if it was the same jones I New when I was in the navy with in the early 1980s if it is give me shout
Rachel,
A beautiful restoration job. It reminds me of my CJ-2A with a 3A windshield. did approximately the same , but kept the 6volt electrical system. As long as the ground strap under the generator to the frame is good 7 intact the 4 banger will start easily anyway.
