444: Jay Barr, Jr. 1948 Willys CJ-2A
Bought new in 48 by my great grandfather. Recently completed restoration by my Father and myself. CJ family for life! Pictured is our 48, my 78 (green) that I drove in high school (I’m 45 now) and my Dads 78 (blue) that he has owned since the early 80’s. Kaiser Willys was instrumental in providing all of the parts needed to make my great grandfathers Jeep new again! I would also like to mention that my niece who is 8 is now driving the Willys as did myself, my sister, and my grandfather making 5 generations!

Thanks for the compliment David! Our Willys is in fact Luzon red. My Uncle owns a body shop and He matched the color as closely as He could. I will forward you the paint code and paint manufacturer shortly. Have a good day!
Hi Jay,
Beautiful jeep! I rescued a 1948 Willys CJ-2A myself last month. It’s running and thinking about painting it. I believe the original color is the same as yours. Luzon Red, aka Maroon. Could you verify that is your color? If so, were did you purchase and what code did you use for the color. Thank you in advance and good jeep’n!
