424: Xavier Peeters’ M201 Hotchkiss Jeep “Sahara” Version
Here are some pics of my Jeep Hotchkiss M201 in the SAHARA version. This version was developed in the late 50s to be used in the desert region of the french colonies. As special features it has a toolbox on the front, a spotlight on the windshield, a special air filter on the front right wing, a second fuel tank under the passenger seat, a water jerry can between the 2 front seat and a double fuel system to cope with vapour lock. The tires are Michelin XC 6,50 x 16 with a road profile for better evolution in the sand. The color scheme is from the “3eme Groupe de Transport” based in Reggan (Algeria) in 1966-67.

Great build! You can take it anywhere.
Welded pipes (ladders) are used for traction in sand, mud, etc.
What is the purpose of the ladder like welded pipes on the front end?
I’ve never seen this version of the Willys. Nice presentation of such a awesome military support vehicle.
It would have been nice to see a picture of the engine compartment. Well done!
Scott.
