I have a 1942 Ford ‘Script’ GPW with a chassis number 27773, which perhaps would have come from the Chester, PA assembly plant of Ford and the Date of Delivery would have been in mid-May, 1942.

It was perhaps used in the British Indian Army during WW2 , most probably in the Burma theater of war and subsequently inducted in the Indian Army after 1947. Must have been auctioned of at a later date after service, and came into civilian use. The GPW was acquired by me almost 20 years ago and has been with me ever since.

8-25-2014 – At yesterday’s ‘My TVS -Heritage Motor Rally ‘ for Vintage & Classic cars, I am happy to inform you that I won two trophies. The highlight was winning the ” Concourse d’ Elegance ”  ( the best car before 1940) for my 1938 Mercedes Benz 170V. There was a write up in today’s Hindu (25 Aug). Here are some pictures including the scanned copy of the article.
