I bought this vehicle in 2004. My initial interest was to get it running and on the road. By 2014 I accomplished this task, but of course, over time the Willys grew on me. Now, i am into the 2nd phase of getting the cosmetics completed. This is where I found out what the J E E P stands for, “Just empty every pocket”. I am a novice in all aspects of this restoration. Fabrication is a necessary skill. Thanks to Kaiser Willys over the years for their advice and help in obtaining parts needed. I’ve learned a lot and became really good at rebuilding the complete brake system. It stops on a dime and some change. When I was 15 my dad let me purchase a 1930 Model a Ford. He graciously allowed me to use his garage for a couple of years until i got it running. He wasn’t a car guy but would run interference for me in picking up parts since I didn’t drive. At times he would help me put in those parts or call a friend who knew how to do it. The Jeep sits in the same spot 50 years later and all those fond memories come flooding back.
