How to remove the Front and Rear Driveshaft Assembly from your Willys Jeep – Part of an ongoing “Jeep” disassembly and restoration series sponsored by Kaiser Willys.
To begin, remove the Universal Joint U-Bolts from the transfer case output yoke & propeller shaft yoke. Next, remove the Universal Joint U-Bolts from the front differential pinion shaft yoke & propeller shaft yoke. Detach the driveshaft assembly. (Note: The cross located in the end of the drive shaft is the Spicer-Style Universal Joint.) Now, remove the four transfer case output yoke nuts attaching the output yoke to the brake drum on the transfer case. Remove the U Bolts from the end yoke. Finally, detach the drive shaft from the rear differential.
