I found this pickup near Houston, Texas. It came with a parts pickup. We took it down to the frame, and began the restoration. Thanks to Kaiser Willys, I was able to get new wiring and the parts I needed to complete the restoration. Easier than my friends could get parts for their new pickups. I would like to thank you for helping to make my dream come true! I have been blessed to have several good people help me with this project. I can’t count the number of times people have came up and ask to take a picture of it. I have had several 70+ year old people that have came up and told me that just seeing that old pickup brought back good memories. The memories of them or their dad loading the horse or cattle that were going to market in the back of their pickup.

Neel,
A very nice job there, those wonderful old machines were such good critters and work vehicles in all those decades long ago. And you use it too, not just driven in parades.
We truly lived in the best times in those years.
I have had my 1956 CJ5 for over 62 years, only sorry I can’t be with it forever. Hopefully it will be taken care of by one of my grand kids.
If only I had the space & money I would have many of these things. Dave & Sasha.
Great story, you and all of us with our Jeeps are what all this is about. Sharing history, and letting others enjoy our Jeeps as much as we do. You with the help of Kaiser Willys have rescued another Jeep. Great job and it sounds like many who helped you had a good time and much to be proud of. Thanks for sharing, great photos too.
Captain
beautiful rig, reminds me of my fist vehicle, 1955 willy’s pick-up with a 265cid chevy motor. bought it not drivable and completed the conversion. Fun ride for sure, slow with 5:88 gearing but would climb a tree. Nice job!
great pic of the red willys and yellow horse !!!
we bought a ’51 willys truck from a friend who got it from a serviceman , who needed money instead of the truck. no pics yet.
we have a very strong family history of military servicemen and women and think this willys is a great way to remember our deceased military heros
