It has taken three years, with my parents, my brothers, my nieces, and my boys but my 1947 Willys Jeep is almost done! We took it out for a drive when I was home last week. Such a great weekend, such a great family! We started the project with the intentions of getting it running, welding some plates over the rust, paint it green and have fun. We ended up taking it down to the frame sandblasting everything, changing the engine, rebuilding the transmission and then rebuilt the rest from the frame up. My dad is a perfectionist and it soon became clear if we were going to do this we were going to do it right.
Big shout out to Kaiser Willys and their amazing website. It’s more than a place to order parts, but if you are reading this you already know. We thought it was a 1946 according to the previous owner but after using the Kaiser website we discovered it is actually a 1947.

Beautiful job on the jeep. Would you be interested in a 1948-1949 Willys Jeepster. To restore it needs TCL. I don’t have the means to do it. Thanks any interest email me.
Would you be interested in a jeep I have for sale. My dad says it’s like a 1948-1949 Willys Jeepster. Diffently needs restored but mostly someone to love it. My dream was to restore it but I don’t have the means to do it. Thanks for reading. Oh an your jeep looks beautiful.
Beautiful Jeep, great job! 🙂
Gotta tell you that she didn’t probably look that good when it rolled off the line! LOL! Great job! A good/great
family project but……just like Pringles potato chips “You just can’t do One”!
Fantastic photos & family. Good job! Aren’t you glad it’s over. Now, go find another one and get started!
Very nice restoration, and a heckuva nice shop!!!! I’m envious! However, just as an educational point of observation, I would like to point out that our flag is hung incorrectly. The stars ALWAYS go in the upper left. As an FYI, please google “flag etiquette”. Thank you.
Great job. I know the story; “Well, it won’t cost all that much more to do it right….” .
And, that’s the only color for a real Jeep – RED!
Beautiful!!!! What a great job; y’all (I’m from the South) have done a fantastic job and are a great inspiration to those of us who have an uncut diamond covered in the backyard that is waiting for similar treatment. Congratulations!
