Ian Pattinson

Although these trucks ceased production in 1964 this was built in Jan 1966. I’m guessing sales were very slow after the new Gladiator came out in 63. I’ve heard a few stories about the production in the Brisbane factory. Also when restoring it I found a few parts that are different to what is supposed to be on a pick up; like the front spring pivot eye bush & pin are different, also the rear diff is a little wider so may have been originally for a forward control. None of this surprises me from what I’ve heard they just use what they could find on the shelf & this would have been 1 of the last ever made so parts bins would not be likely to have the exact parts they needed.

It has been converted to a Toyota 3B Diesel Engine & 40 series Land Cruiser gearbox & transfer case I also put a 2 piece windscreen in it for a more vintage look.
