My son Andrew found the Willys online for sale. We went to look at it it was sitting in an old barn and hadn’t been run for many many years. Captain Mason spend the next several hours sharing stories of the things he’s done as well as the book he had written. He told us how we first fell in love with the Willys Jeep as a young soldier at the end of World War 2. He shared several stories with us about his life as her Majesty’s license to kill official assassin. He also showed us a picture of him and Clint Eastwood…..Peter had a traveling rodeo …..The director recruited some members of the rodeo to be the in Clint’s First spaghetti western and Captain Mason was recruited to ride clients horse for all the long-shots in the movie. I asked captain Mason why he was living in Alberta Canada…. explained that after all the work he did for her Majesty, he needed to check out for his own safety and pick the most remote place we could find in the Commonwealth…. Rocky Mountains in Alberta.
He had a Rolls-Royce, 2 E type Jaguars, three Land Rovers, and an armored personnel carrier and a 1947 Willys. Willys was in rough shape engine was not running … Transmission was shot….nothing worked…. It took me three years to rebuild it and a lot of parts! But we kept it original and enjoy driving it today. After spending the afternoon with Captain Mason it give me the feeling that I have a very boring life.
Thanks
