John Burton
My CJ-2A… I’ve done my “46” in reverse… She started out as big ol’ nasty rock crawler when I bought it. Since then, I’ve built my dream car – an old “army jeep” (thanks to Kaiser Willys & a lot of skilled friends)… but don’t let the looks fool ya…she’s still got the 383 big block under the hood. I love my old Willys. Most kids will never see a B-29 or a Sherman tank, but there will always be a few of these ol’ ICONS around… I make sure of that!!
Update. Here’s a updated pic of the Burton families 1946 Willys CJ-2A…what a great lil machine…I have wanted a Willys all my life and about 6 months ago I got one…she was in bad shape..wore out, abused & tired…thanks to Kaiser Willys and a group of skilled friends ( some Korean war vets ) I own a turn-key Willys that I wouldn’t hesitate to drive to the ends of the earth….& isn’t it funny how somebody gets a Willys and it becomes a “family member” and not just a “car”…the best thing is when I drive past young kids and they say,” HEY MISTER,..THAT ARMY JEEP IS SICK!!! “..( that’s a good thing right? )….Thanks kaiser Willys, but know that I’m “far from done” with your catalog….the Ol’ Willys still got along way to go!!!….[•|||||||•]
