– The Woodrow Wilson Wagner project “WWW,” a 1962 CJ-5 given a new life.
This is my 1962 Willys CJ-5, the history behind this car is this one: In the beginning it was a military Jeep in Costa Rica. After completing it’s service “WWW” came back to the USA and started to work as a shuttle from LAX airport to some of the hotels (imagine this Jeep in a baby blue color) after several years working as a shuttle it was purchased for the Bettes family and they used it to work on their farm in CA and the CJ-5 was passed between the family members. When I purchased the CJ-5 it was a really sentimental moment for the family. I promised them I would restore the Willys CJ-5 in the original military manner. So after one year this is the final result. It was a pleasure to restore “WWW” and be back on the road. I LOVE THIS CAR.

Great Job. Have a 49 CJ-2 and bought it from the original owner who called it he “mistress” as he kept it in the garage for 60 years. Runs like a top. Proud to be one of the “Brotherhood” !!!
Hello, you have a nice looking Jeep “job well done!” However I’m confused, your Jeep is a 1962 round fended and it’s a civilian model. Flat fenders were used during the Costa Rica conflict in 1948. Cj5 Round fenders were used during the Korea and Vietnam era. Anyways you do have an awesome looking Jeep!
Regards,
Very very nice. Great job rebuilding. wish I had one.
I own a 1957 cj-5 that was used in Germany.
I love looking at your Jeep you did a great job restoring it . I just got finished restoring a 1959 Jeep. I was deputy for 22 years. in the area I patrolled I knew everyone, that was in my area. Last year a farmer called me and asked me if I was looking for a Jeep. the farmer said he was going to give it to me but his wife wanted $100.00 for it to buy flowers. I paid for it right there. I could not get a better deal . the jeep sat on the side of the farmers barn for a lot of years just rusting away. a lot of cutting and welding. and a new fuel pump gas tang carburetor rebuild and other items. and long hours 7 day a week. but I drove it in the veterans day parade in Boise Idaho. I felt good about it. for being 72 at that time. I found and other Jeep I think I can get it for scrap metal price. a friend of mine has it. And again you did a great job restoring Your old CJ 5 Jeep .
