I purchased this 1960 Willy pick up truck in 1997. The Body was in very good condition for its age, with very little rust, except for where expected; the floor boards. The car was complete except for the motor which was missing. I quickly located an original Hurricane 626 motor in good condition and made car running. The following summer my son was interested in giving the car a paint job and we started the project, needless to say both of us where very excited but also very busy, we finally finished the project 13 years later and this is the result. The truck remained in the same original condition as I found it and most likely how it was delivered to the first owner 50 years ago, Even with the same color except I didn’t like the original yellow so we picked a yellow from the period but different car maker. The rear step-bumper is not standard to the Willy but custom to the period. It was a workhorse in its day and will be a workhorse for years to come, for now it can carry my advertising sign for my company.
