Hallo,
I bought the truck in 1988. A friend had seen it on the wide ocean beach. That was a good enough reason to totally dismantle and strip the hole car. Luckily I found no sand, salt and no unusual rust, but it seemed to be quite knock around. Sadly I had to replace the 230 Tornado and gear-box. A fully reconditioned 250 Ford, C4, Adapter and Willys transfer-case sits very happily on the under-frame, that is gal-dipped. As for family-car and work-truck it carried us (then three) all over North-Queensland for ten years.
Now our Willys-Ute (as we call little trucks here) has it a little easier.
2010 I pulled the body apart again. Repair rust, sand to bare tin, and paint. The brakes, tray and bull-bar needed replacing. But no other mechanicals needed to be done.
There is always something to do. With the shed the paint will still look good in twenty years.
Regards
Peter Neuhaus
