John Exner, re: the requirements of Seat Belts, I drove mine many years without them. I registered the vehicle at Vic Roads with out them. I beleive that the requirements re: safety is that it comply with the standards applicable to it’s year of production. So it can have no belts. But I have just put a set of belts i removed from a Cherokee full size to be safer in an accident.

I am in Brisbane QLD and am currently in the process of restoring a 1964 willys truck with the tornado 230 OHC engine . Mine has trafficators, and seat belts were fitted to mine I will be posting some photos soon I am currently having trouble getting the rear drums off any suggestions as I need to O/H the brakes any info would help regards.Could you send me an email on ian.preston8@bigpond.com

I am in Wentworth Falls, NSW. Well on the way restoring a circa 1961 with 226 motor.
Tell me, have you got trafficators or seat belts in yours? What is the legal position at least as it is in Victoria.
