I first saw Willy in march of 2012 on line. I was impressed with its condition as evident in the picture. After 3 months of deciding, I bought Willy and brought it home July 4th 2012. Due to its excellent original condition, and the staff at Kaiser Willy’s, I was able to fully restore Willy in a little over 3 months. Its a joy to drive and I get many looks and stares…
Update 10-20-2014:About 3 years ago I was in the process of purchasing a 1950’s pick up truck. The deal quickly deteriorated and needless to say I was disappointed. One evening I was searching the Internet and came across a 1960 Willy’s wagon. The ad was very vague so I emailed the owner. He responded with a phone# that had the same area code as mine, I didn’t call. Three months later I was cleaning out my inbox and came across the email and phone# I emailed him again asking if Willy was still available, that evening he again responded with his phone# I called him and he sent me a bunch of pictures. After looking at the pictures I knew I wanted it. It took 2 years and much help from Mike and the crew at Kaiser Willys to get it to its present condition. I have the doors lettered with my business name which attracts much attention at car shows and cruise nights. It won its first peoples choice award last month. I am glad the original deal fell through and I couldn’t be happier with my Willys.
Hi Charlie,
I love the color scheme of your vehicle especially the red. I’ve tried to find a red like this color and am wondering if you could give me the details of which red it is? I am trying to match the red with the color of my wife’s office building which is an old gas station that we restored. This color looks like it would work really well for my project. Thanks for any help you can give me. Phil
Charlie,
That is awesome restoration work done. That is what i call TLC at first site. Congrat with your Willies and welcome aboard to the Willies family owner’s group.

Charlie,
Congratulations! I live in N. Illinois, but my daughter lives in Brooklyn. I think your wagon is the same one that I wanted my daughter to check out for me on Long Island. I’m envious, you’ve got me wishing that I would have pushed harder to get the deal done. My loss, but I’m happy happy for you. She’s BEAUTIFUL!
