Picture of my 1947 Willys Station Wagon. It is a 1947 right-hand drive wagon. It has the original engine and transmission. It was imported in to this country in 1949 and I am the second owner. It is in excellent condition and I drive it almost daily to work.
For 20+ years, I’ve seen a wagon like this in my hometown (inverse body color). It was clean and shiny and running in 1984..now it’s rusty and dull, sitting behind a gate near a scrapyard, unused, perhaps not running. Any guess as to what condition the interior is in. Have been contemplating trying to save it from current owner, but don’t know what kind of $$$ I’d be getting into for restoration. Any ideas? Is it better to just find a clean one from the start?
Good morning Anith.I’ve just bought my grandfathers jeep like yours that was standing for 36 years in storage. The general condition is still very good.I am in south africa so our sources are very limited.Any pics i find on the net is like gold. The only parts i find that is missing is the oil filter housing and the arm rests at the two doors inside.I would appreciate any help with pics of the inside of your jeep.I’ve just started to search on net so my pics is not on net yet.
Will appreciate your email address if possible.

Hello Anith. What a fabulous restoration. I just acquired the same model and year here in Alberta Canada. I hope to have mine looking like yours eventually and would love to become pen pals and swap info and our love of this particular model and year. My mom was a war bride and after the war my Canadian soldier dad sent for her and they travelled across Canada to British Columbia in their brand new 47 Willy. I have several black and white photos and really enjoyed seeing yours in color. I too want to use it as my main car, but my guy says I probably won’t like it. Anyway, I’m thrilled to find you as I am just at the beginning of this restoration adventure! I will do as much as I can myself…Hope to hear from you soon…
