I bought an M38A1 in February 1972. I was 18 and lived in Minnesota. It was the very first vehicle I ever bought. I nearly froze to death driving it the 35 miles home. My Dad, a WWII vet, told me I was crazy and made me return it to the owner. I owned that first M38A1 for only a weekend. Forty-one years later, I bought my second Willys, another M38A1. I am sure Dad is smiling down on me from Heaven. I used my father-in-law’s Army unit designations on the bumper. He was a Korean War Vet – 32nd Infantry, 1st Battalion, Company L. The A1 is the centerpiece of our Christmas Card this year.
