I took these pictures close to our very special military kind of Toblerone http://www.toblerone.ch/ (famous Swiss chocolate). The way this tank stoppers were built and placed on strategic places to defend our territory against (by the time of the cold war) the Russian aggressors named them from the beginning this way. A lot of this defense lines are today under historic value and remained as cultural monuments of the Swiss history. Do not forget that we did not have an ocean between the red forces and ourselves. No chance to prepare our Army with big waters in between. So we solved by being prepared at all time with a lot of military fortresses and obstacles. So enjoy my pictures and thanks again for sharing them on my blog!
5-15-2015 Update: Pic of Jeep in Shipping Container
“Bringing it home!” Coming back to the American streets from Switzerland, shipped to the Charleston Harbor.
Regards from Switzerland, yours Patrik-Marc, CSM Swiss Army Military Police.
1-6-2016 Update: All original. No fake parts. Even original Swiss factory (Maloya) Type M military tires. Was built in Toledo Ohio, shipped to the Swiss DOD, used as GP for all units. Was my duty car while serving as a SM. In the late 90s I bought it from surplus. Since then with me. Did the trip back home to the US with us and is now running on SC roads.
Hi Patrik,
Very nice jeep… I remember seeing it once in La Poya 🙂
This is a CJ-5 not an M38A1: the latter does not have Jeep stamped on the side nor the
big central display. The chassis is reinforced to accomodate the recoilless rifle. And the
last one was built in 1962.
Take care,
Chris
Very nice. At least you have its history.
Mine was in Canada but dont know the history after that.. Guess i’ll make my own.
