1953 M38A1 - This is an M38A1 with an oral history of a Marine Jeep at Port Hueneme and stayed in Southern California until recently. Three coats of paint, original green, orange, and then a rattle can flat black. Also, this is my first Jeep, and it is really for my daughter and I to put put around town and replaces my Dual Sport/Enduro bike riding days. I am focusing on \"preservation\" of it in it\'s existing condition, and then in 10 or so years, start a restoration to original military configuration. 10 years to collect parts! Still an F-Head. With some good advice from Mike, the jeep is now sporting a back seat and canvas cushions from Kaiser Willys.

Hello Mike, and Thank you for an oppurtunity to show off our vehicles. These are a couple of my 1957 M38A1 issued to the U.S. Marine Corp on May 30th 1957. She still has a ways to go, re-paint in OD green, tires, seats etc. Love your site, store and the great help and knowledge from the staff. Many thanks, Bill Clements

This 1955 M38A1 Jeep was entered in 2012 Larimer County Fair Parade on July 28th. Received a letter July 30, 2012 saying :\"Congratulations and thank you for exhibiting an Award Winning Entry in the 2012 Larimer County Fair Parade.\" It was a thrill for the many fans and kids along the parade route to see this U.S. Army Jeep with the American Flag on the back. The theme of the parade was \"Red ,White, and Blue\". I wore my Vietnam era fatigues with my Service Medals and the same Cal .45 M1911 pistol that I carried in Vietnam from June 19,1968 thru June 19, 1969. Served in U.S. Army 1st Logistical Command, ACofS,Ammunition, at Long Binh, Vietnam Tour 365.

The serial plate should be located on the passenger side dash just under the ‘grab bar’. If that plate is missing look for a patent plate which is located behind the passenger seat frame on the leading or forward edge of the tire well. If that guy says he’s selling an M38A1 and the year is 1941 he doesn’t know what he has. If it’s a 41 it would be an MB or GPW with a 9 slat grille. The M38A1 has rounded fenders and looks like a CJ-5. Let us know if you need help with anything else.
where would i find the serial plate on a M38A1.. this guy has a jeep for sale (only 300 ) bucks he says its a 41 but i say other wise….. any help would app thank u very much…. cant wait to start building it

It’s the second time when i’ve seen your site. I can see lots of hard work has gone in to it. It’s really wonderful.
Have a 52 M3841 Elect fuel pump not working. It has sat idle for 10 years after many hunting trips. Thinking of putting a original one on. I can”t see where it goes I think there was one when I bought it in 62 from the California Forest Service.
Thanks Robert
