This is my 1952 M38A1. Mostly original when I got it. It was in a fire so the entire 24 volt electrical system, seat cushions, and a lot of rubber parts are gone. It has the 4-134F engine and came with another 4-134F almost complete engine. The original military markings are still visible. I am not keeping it original but intend to preserve the military appearence so I can use it in parades with my VFW post. I used the blackout light housings and fabricated mounts for 1157 bulbs. The tail light lenses are off of a “gamma goat.”
5-22-2017 Update:
I found it just sitting there in a neighbor’s back yard. It was a burned out wreck. He got it to start so I bought it and took it home. I hand made the seat cushions, completely rewired it 12 volt. As soon as my VFW Post saw it, they insisted I run it in parades. It now accomanies a small fleet of military vehicles owned by members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. It’s a survivor and looks like it’s been through hell but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
