This 1954 M38A1 I purchased in March of 2016 and it was KM rough shape and looked like a CJ5 since it was just patched together for so many years. I mechanically fixed it up in 2 months and put close to 3K miles on it that summer. Then between February 2nd and May 18th 2017 I did a total rebuild, right down to the frame, new suspension, floors, tailgate panel, rockers and even rubuild the original battery box opening. Stripped all the old paint and bondo exposing the dents she had acquired over the years and did an army green textured bedline on the inside of the tub, original OD green on the outside with some custom “nose art” of a card hand with joker, ace, nine, five, four to represent the year and “unlucky at cards, lucky at love” on the drivers side to give her a very personalized and unique military style touch. Since the rebuild she has gone to many car shows, parades and off road trips and already acquired new dents and shown a lot of people how capable these old Jeeps are totally factory.
