Q: How can you tell what year model my jeep is, I can’t make out the serial number. It has a four cylinder motor with the valves in the head (not a flat head).
- A: Please call me toll free (1-888-648-4923). I can ask you a few questions and help you identify your jeep. Thanks!
Q: I have a 1950 M38 with a transplant 4-134 F head, would this be the manual for everything except the engine?
- A: Yes, it will cover it including the 4-134 L and F head motor.
Q: Hi, I just bought a 1959 CJ-5 and the previous owner had said that he had removed the L-head engine to rebuild it but hadn’t finished it. Now I was under the impression that the CJ-5’s only ever had the F-head engines in this year, and the CJ-3B had the L-head engine. Is this correct or did I just misread something at some point?
- A: The CJ-3B and CJ-5 always had the 4-134 F head motor. The 4-134 L head was used on CJ-3A and earlier jeeps.
