Front Leaf Spring Assembly (2 required per vehicle) – Part#: 999528
Q: Does this fit a 1964 CJ-6 Universal?
- A: Yes, the CJ-6 suspension is the same as the CJ-5.
Q: I need to replace my front leaf springs, do yours come threaded on the one end I have threaded brackets if not what do I have to do?
- A: If you have a M38A1 then you are gonna be threaded on the shackle end. These work for both CJ-5 and M38A1. The threaded bushing will bit into the metal on the spring and thread in. Or you can use a CJ-5 steel/rubber bushing and it presses in.
Q: I bought a 55 M38A1. The front springs rear shackles are worn to the extent that the stock shackle passes through the frame. What kind of bushing can I use to expand in this space and use a hanger. Or is there another fix?
Q: I have a 1957 FC-150. You have a 7 leaf leaf and a 10 leaf spring. Which ones are correct for my front and rear springs? Also what are the part #s I need to replace the bushings? They now have a grease zerk fitting on them?
- A: It depends on your FC-150 if you are dual rear wheels or not. Please call us toll free. We can go over your options.
Q: I am changing leaf springs on a 67 CJ-5 / V-6. Need to know if pivot bushings come with new springs. It would be very helpfull if you could provide a list of parts #. I want to change all u bolts, shackles, bushings, springs ( currently has 10 leaf front, 5 rear. Shock mounts look good, just replaces shocks a few months ago.
- A: The leaf springs are sold less bushings. You will also want part numbers: 916646, 809236 & 921055.
Q: Are these springs new, or NOS? Does it matter? I’m not worried about an exact restoration, but I don’t want to cobble things together either. The springs on my 1953 m38A1 actually have 11 leaves if you count the short strap on the bottom next to the axle housing.
- A: There is really no such thing as NOS on these. These are brand new ready for install and the proper springs for your vehicle.
Q: I have 1957 FC-150 this is the first year when they used the CJ-5 running gear. I need new springs will this one work? I have to count the leaves on mine but they look just like the ones on my Early CJ-5.
- A: They should work fine on the FC.
Q: I need front spings for my 66 CJ-5 (V6). I think the shackles I’ve got are OK. Do I need to order schackles to go with these or can I used my old ones?
- A: These are the proper ones. Your old shackles are reusable but we have new ones as well. They are part number: 916646
