I am Romeo Dilig – MVPA member/restorer from the Philippines. This is my Willys M606 High Hood with Hurricane engine (valve- in-head). “M606” has been a Kaiser Jeep designation for a CJ that was militarized for foreign sale. This Jeep is one of the units built in the 1960’s for the Mutual Defense Assistance Program or MDAP, designed to provide friendly countries with military equipment.
This Jeep was used by the Philippine Constabulary for almost a decade from the 1960’s to the 1970’s. This Jeep was used by the Provincial Commander of Philippine Constabulary in our province of Bataan, Philippines, (the site of the infamous Death March during World War II). I bought this Jeep in a military camp as junk with its original hurricane engine, but without transmission, transfer case, front and rear differentials, and steering gearbox. I just paid for the original chassis, engine, and body. And now here it is after the restoration – back to its all original parts from parts of the body to the under chassis. The headlight switch, gauge panel and all the gauges are original. The restoration lasted for almost 2 years .

Romeo,
Are you in the business of restoring Jeeps? If you are, I’m looking for a 4×4, Diesel engine powered Scrambler or Jeep pick up or other Jeep vehicle customized to have a longer wheel base, bed and modified suspension to accompany the weight carried in the bed.
If you don’t do restorations or customizations anymore, can you suggest someone? I’m really looking to take an old vehicle and make it new again.
Thank you,
Joe T
