Our 1963 Jeep Willy’s Station wagon came to live with us in February of 2012. He was a rescue from a local vehicle graveyard. His back quarter panels were painfully rusted and his grill had lost it’s shine. Realizing “Willy’s” true potential, we dove into the work as a husband and wife restoration project. Immediately, we began searching for restoration guidelines and supplies and found endless knowledge through Kaiser Willys Auto Supply.
Kelly Dean replaced both of “Willy’s” rusted quarter panels and Kellie Jo sanded “Willy’s” weathered paint. After each day of work “Willy” began looking like a brand new jeep! Once all the bodywork was complete, Kelly gave “Willy” a new custom paint job. “Willy” became a woody! Not only was “Willy” a woody on the outside, but small details on the inside gave “Willy” even more personality. All the window trim, compartment doors and even the steering wheel was painted wood grain. “Willy’s” grill parts were re-chromed, he received all new bronze tinted glass and brand new upholstery. By late August 2012, “Willy” was up, running and cruising through town.
“Willy” has been on many adventures. He visited the local beach at the famous St. Anthony sand dunes, posed for photos at Jonny Sacks cabin in Island Park, Idaho, and even toured Yellowstone National Park! Wherever “Willy” travels, he is always turning heads. People will wave, give thumbs up and even chase “Willy” down just to get a better look at him. Thanks to Mike and all of the great people at Kaiser Willy’s Auto Supply, we were able to give our “Willy” a new, brighter future!

Hi, Just wondering if you sell any of your custom wooden door jeeps? They are so very attractive & cool! I’d love to beach it in one!! Thank you for your reply!!
Great looking Willys!! I purchased a 1954 Willys Overland Station Wagon in June 2012 and have been working on it since then. My plan is to make it a “woodie” similar to yours. Kaiser Willys has been a good source for parts. One thing that I do need is a horn since someone took it prior to my purchase. Any suggestions? Also, I plan to someday take a road trip similar to the trip that my father and mother took myself and five siblins on in 1950 in dad’s new Overland. One picture survives of this trip and in this picture, we are all sitting at a road side rest stop eating slices of watermelon and in the background, is Dad’s new Willys.
