I bought my 1953 Willys CJ-3A 21 years ago when I was in high school. She was up in the mountains of Colorado and the story we got was that she used to be a Park Service vehicle. My father and I drove her home on a cold day in November with a top made for a bigger model and no doors. For the first several years I worked on her and ended up blowing the engine up which meant saving the money and having an old-timer that knew how to rebuild the original 4-cylinder and had the special tools for it. I eventually moved out of state and in my free time started doing the bodywork and paint. Other hobbies, getting married and kids got in the way so she sat for many years torn apart. The last 3 or 4 years my father and I have been working on restoring Willy and this past summer she has been cruising the streets in the small country town that we live in. I also went to several cruises and received a lot of compliments wherever I take her. Thank you Kaiser for having a one shop stop for me to find the parts I need for my Willys.
