A buddy and I bought Maddy, a 1954 M38A1 MD, in May of 2018 after she had been a farm girl for many years. MD = Maddy. We have worked on her over the last seven months to a “Motor Pool” restoration level. At her second car show with about 30 very very nice custom cars exhibited… Maddy won, Best of Show! I was floored, almost fainted!
Maddy, was voted Best of Show by the young people in attendance. When I take Maddy to car shows, I encourage everyone especially children to get in and have a picture taken behind the wheel or the replica .50 cal machine gun. At the awards ceremony, The Show Director, thanked myself and an MB owner profusely for maintaining examples of what makes our nations military history come to life for our youth. We have purchased the majority of our parts from KW, thanks very much for great service and great parts! The little girl in the pic is my granddaughter during a Veteran’s Day parade.

Larry Beardsley, that’s cool. Touch me, but kids don’t jump up and down on my seats or play with the gears in my M38A1 when I park it for local events. I also disconnect the battery to prevent horn blowing. Kids love to pose for photos too.

Me refiero al color del modelo M38A1
I let Kids, Moms, Grandmas – and even guys – play in the ’48.. It’s a truck. It’s meant to be enjoyed.
One of my show signs is:
“Go ahead, touch me. I’m THAT kind of truck!”
Tengo un willys CJ-2A y quiero pintarlo del color que viene el modelo del reportaje, cuál es el código de la pintura usada..?
I have a 1954 M38A1 that is in at least as good shape than the M151’s I was issued in the Army. I have had “Eugene the Jeep” in a number of parades and military-appreciation events. As I am sure you have noticed, people, and children in particular, cannot look at one of these vehicles without smiling, and veterans always want to look at it and touch it. Nice job on yours.
Rachel, I have a 1954 38A1 also. It is in at least as good shape as those M151’s I was issued in the Army. I’ve had “Eugene the Jeep” in a number of parades and military appreciation events. I have noticed that people, and children in particular, immediately smile when they see one of these jeeps. Nice job on your jeep.
