033: Dean Pettingill’s 1957 Willys Truck
This is a 1957 Willys Truck, bulit by Dean Pettingill of Clearfield, Utah. I bought this truck in 1980, stock as can be. Since then I have changed everything. I wanted a daily driver so I went with a 1973 3/4 ton 4×4 chevy chassis, 350 engine auto trans and now it’s a driver.

Hola, amigo esta bien bonito tu pick up, me gusta… tengo uno en construcción espero llegar a tenerlo igual al tuyo algún día… felicidades…
Awesome looking truck. What are tire & wheel specs. Congratulations on your build.
I can’t believe that, in almost a year, no one has left a comment. Well, I will. Dean, that is one great looking truck. Your ’57 is my favorite of all the “Willys of the Week” vehicles. I first noticed it in a very small photo at the front of my 2012 (my first) Kaiser Willys catalog.
I recently bought a ’66 CJ6 that I am working on. It is great but it sure is a handful at anything above 35 mph. It was used as a rock climber & slow speeds are great but I want it to be able to drive safely at highway speeds. I currently have a super HD steering damper on order to install. If this does not cure the problem, then I will be rebuilding the entire steering.
Getting back to yours, it is a wonderful looking truck & I am envious! Enjoy.
