095: Andy Record’s 1953 M38A1
This is an M38A1 with an oral history of a Marine jeep at Port Hueneme and stayed in Southern California until recently. Three coats of paint, original green, orange, and then a rattle can flat black.
Also, this is my first Jeep, and it is really for my daughter and I to put put around town and replaces my Dual Sport/Enduro bike riding days. I am focusing on “preservation” of it in it’s existing condition, and then in 10 or so years, start a restoration to original military configuration. 10 years to collect parts! Still an F-Head. With some good advice from Mike, the jeep is now sporting a back seat and canvas cushions from Kaiser Willys.
