348: Bill Jackson’s 1955 Willys CJ-3B
I started out with the idea of just doing a brake job and a valve job, but ended up doing a frame off restoration. Most everything was rebuilt with the exception of the rear axle. I took apart the transmission, transfer case and engine. Then it was converted to 12V. The only real modifications are disk brakes up front and 11 inch brakes in the rear with a dual master cylinder, otherwise it’s pretty original. I welded and body worked it in the garage, then primed and painted it in the driveway under a makeshift tarped paint booth. Proud to say its “Built Not Bought.”

Since you have your 3-B modified anyway, try an overdrive and a 2 barrel carburetor with an adapter. My dad had something similar, and it made a world of difference. If the 6 volt system was properly grounded it would work and start fine also.
