281: John Bridge’s 1950 Willys M38
~ In Remembrance of those we’ve lost and in honor of those that we are lucky to still have with us.
This is my 1950 M38 as well as me and my 96 year old grandfather. The markings on the jeep reflect his service during WWII in the 29th Infantry, 116th Regiment, 1st Battalion, Headquarters Company where he earned a Purple Heart and 4 Bronze Stars. He survived Normandy and a ride around the neighborhood with his grandson.

That’s a beautiful job on the M38. I’m a veteran, and I have a M38A1. Veterans of WWII forward are drawn to these military vehicles. I drove an 94 year old African American veteran of WWII, who was grand marshall in our local July 4th parade. The recognition he received was long deserved. Best of luck to your granddad.
