271: Scott Arthur’s 1961 Willys CJ-5
This is my 1961 CJ-5 Willys. The color, I found out to be is Michigan Yellow under the green. I’ve been ordering parts from Kaiser Willys and Heath is the man!!!! The Jeep is mostly original, f-134 motor, just replacing little bushings, cables and brakes, that’s really all it needed. The guys at Kaiser are the best!

I had a 63, very much like yours back in ’85. A minor fender bender (not my fault) took her to the body shop where one thing led to another and she came out with an entire paint job, beautiful snow white with black roll bar and all the decals that were popular back then.
My best friend had a 17 year old son who was crazy about jeeps. When he got his license I told him he could drive the CJ-5 until he could afford his own vehicle. Then I told his dad that I would put the title in his name to allow his family to insure the Jeep. All when well until Junior showed up with a Blazer one day. I said, “Great, bring my jeep home.” The dad said “We traded that in on the Blazer”. I went into shock. When the smoke cleared my friend apologized profusely He went out and bought a brand new CJ-7 soft-top with hard doors and took me to lunch, where he gave me the keys. We’re still best friends.
Jeeps are great bonds!’

Yeah, I found about three different colors on my 54 CJ3B. Well actually four, but three sounded better…LOL
Good work here!
Scott If you do not have 10″ brakes on your CJ-5 consider putting on hydravac brake booster. They were used primarily on 58-59 fords 7 Chrysler vehicles. It is air over boosted and my dad even pulled a popup tent trailer with his ’55 CJ-5. these were not a hard thing to put on, but they must be done correctly. If you want I can tell you how.
