221: Ryan Littman’s 1970 CJ-5
As the story goes, it was originally sold to a farmer in Tennessee. The second owner was a gentlemen in Las Vegas whom bought it for his wife. I guess she hated to drive it as it didn’t have power anything or AC. He said it was just sitting around taking up space in his shop and decided to put it up for auction on Ebay. I had been looking for an original unmodified CJ-5 in my area for about a year. I gave up locally and after many back and forth e-mails with the then owner I decided to buy this one sight unseen on Ebay. I believe everything mechanically on it was original. I have since repaired replaced the clutch, suspension, rebuilt the transmission, lots of electrical work, rebuilt carb, plugs, ran cables to the winch, etc. Future plans are a full roof and doors, replace the heater, install a loc right rear locker, and some period correct 8 ply offroad tires. The Jeep is in great shape cosmetically. A few little scratches in the paint here and there. Just enough where you are not too upset if a new one shows up. It’s definitely a driver.
