205: Gaétan J. Gagnon’s 1951 Willys M38
Bought in 1967 by a friend of mine who did a frame-up restoration (12 Volt, Warn overdrive, Ramsey PTO and winch, 11″ drum brakes, Dualmatic hubs, Wagner electric fuel pump, desert sand paint…) in 1975 and stored it in a barn in 1976. I bought it in 2011 after my friend passed away. It is almost stock and probably the only surviving M38 CDN delivered to the Canadian army by Ford Canada at the end of 1951 (CAR 51-30035).

To answer David Jones, I have a dual split power take-off, not a two speed.
On a standard dual power take-off, both front and rear shafts are working simultaneously.
On a dual split, you run either one separately. You select the speed with the transmission shifter (3 forward and 1 reverse).
It’s been a long time since I saw another twin stick pto and an overdrive! I installed the same setup on my 65 CJ5.
(Dave J.) It is not a 2 spd, but to control forward and rear pto’s. One lever engages the pto, the other lever selects front or rear pto.
Gaston,
Does yuor jeep have a 2 speed power take off? If so who made them? I have never seen anything like it.
Sincerely,
Davre Jones
Gaeton,
Nice jpb on restoration! No one can beat a power take off winch for logevity, I ah one on my CJ-2A. I have a spare Ramsey winch of my own and the handle or safety device that shielded the gas cap filler spout on the body of those vehicles. If you know anyone who would be interested I would sell them.
Sincerely,
Dave Jones
