140: Juan Pablo Murillo Villa’s 1951 Willys CJ-3A
I’m Juan Pablo Murillo, From Colombia, South America. Some time ago I bought a Willys CJ-3A – it was working, but in bad condition. I decided to start the restoration at home, which was dificult because I didn’t know anything about internal mechanics… I’m a mechanical engineer and I love classic cars!
On May 15 the adventure began with a friend Esteban Suarez; we started disassembling the CJ-3A and reconstructing all of the pieces. Now we enjoy the Jeep some weekends. My car is a CJ-3A from 1951 and I have the original engine, transmission and mechanical elements. Now I’m getting the new stuff, like the clocks and other accessories. We finished the restoration on January 3rd, taking the car out for the celebration of our city, called ‘Feria de Manizales’ recognized like the best fair in America, ‘La mejor feria de America.’
