136: Ignacio Fernandez’ 1951 Willys CJ-3A
This vehicle was purchased in 1951 by a rancher in Tacuarembó city which is 400 km from the capital Montevideo. 55 years year after Mr. Damian Dominguez who is my cousin and my friend, which rebuilt the Jeep and then sold it to me. This vehicle was involved in several crossings in the cities of Maldonado, Minas, Rio Branco and Yaguaron. It is currently in Montevideo, the city in which I reside at the moment because I work in the army and usually every 2 or 3 years, I’m moving to town. This vehicle underwent a “metamorphosis” from the standpoint of mechanical and aesthetics, he changed the original engine for a Chevrolet S-10 2.2 Nafta but the rest of the components are original, and aesthetic military accessories were added such as dimming lights, retapisado to new beige combined with “Desert Storm”, covers rolled 15 “original wheels agrandas by a professional blacksmith and a logos of the 1st air Cavalry Division, which I have because I am Cavalry Officer in the Republic of Uruguay. Also I have the rest of the accessories, camburon, hood, roll bar, but the kick is I like the style of mixed korea war with Iraq. En Español
