125: Roberto Villar’s 1962 Willys Truck
I bought my 1962 Baqueano (Willys Truck) IKA two years ago. This marvelous machine is quite original with its Continental 226 6 cylinders engine, and also the nice colors are original. It was manufactured in Argentina under license of Kaiser Willys Industries.
Dear friends: let me introduce my Argentinean Willys Truck 1962 called IKA Baqueano. Since 1957 Henry J. Kaiser established a factory in Argentina under the name of IKA (Argentinean Kaiser Industries) and started the production of Willys Station Wagon called Estanciera. Between 1960 and 1962 also manufactured the Willys Truck called Baqueano IKA. This company also produced Jeeps and cars in Argentina. Finally in 1975 the company was bought by Renault. I really enjoy the weekends driving my Machine and, of course, repairing and improving my big toy!

Are some “Willys” still available in Argentia?
What is the dark round circle below the right parking light?

very very nice. It’s nice to see them kept 100% original. color combination is very nice
What a beautiful truck. You should be very proud of the job you did.
Lived in Argentina ’60-’65, last 3+ in Córdoba, my Dad’s factory (FMC) down road from IKA (Indústrias Kaiser Argentina). We owned an Estanciera, lt. green/white stripe, that rascal took us all over the countryside! Got a pic of 3 strings of trout hung end-end alongside it one trip. Our Cub Scout troop toured IKA one day, fantastic! Not just assembly plant like US, was full boat: Casting, Forging, Sheetmetal fab, Machining, Paint, Assembly, Test Track; built everything imaginable all in one HUGE plant, maybe 20-30 bldgs. Making crankshafts was awesome to see … 4 stages in monstrous forges 2 stories tall, from rectangular billet to formed piece ready to machine journals to spec. Incredible! Those argentines (not Argentineans!) sure did great work!! Rush hour was a madhouse of 1000’s of motorcycles, heh!
Nice job. Your truck looks great!
