071: Svein Roll’s WWII Jeep
My Willys Jeep 1942/43 as found last summer! It came to Norway in 1953 as a part of the Marshall help to the Norwegian army. I have just started going over the jeep last fall. I am now waiting for spring and summer since I don’t have a heated working place and have to do my restoring work in summer (May – September). I live in a small copper city up in the Norwegian Mountains and we have long winters and short “green summers”.
The number of the frame is: MB 203812, but I think the chassis is older since it does not have any “glovebox.” When found last year in a barn house, it also had the complete winter top on, but I took it off for the summer. With new petrol pump membrane and 6V battery, cleaning of petrol tank and tubes, changing of all oil and greased all parts needed, it started and is running very nicely.
Thank you for your help and best greetings from a snowy mountain town in Norway!

Svein, your Willys looks to have been manufactured around April 42, after that they put the glove boxes on them , removed the Willys name off the back panel and put the fire extinguisher bracket on the drivers side. Being ex Norwegian army it would also have been undersealed, which is a bonus. There also should be a snow shield fastened to your front crossmember. ENJOY.
I am looking for a 1940’s willy MB jeep
And leads anyone
Tks

In Tacoma,Washington(TILLICUM TO BE EXACT) there is a person by the name of Don Prine. I remember him telling me that he had bid on and won from the Norwegian Governement some of the lend lease Marshall Plan Jeeps such as yours. What sticks in my mind is that they were complete right down to the SKI RACKS that were still in place above the canvas top. You have a great find, Regards, RJE
Hey thats a good find. But——- whats with heater hoses going though the firewall ?
Ol Willys is what I call a real 4×4 vehicle, it goes where you want it go….
I have two willys jeeps, CJ2-A 1947 and DJ3-A 1956….both run great!
We have been willys fricks since 1946 when my parants started.
Retired and still enjoying working with it.

NICE FIND !!!!!! Take your time and do it right and it will never let you down. Its like the gal that every guy wants .You get lot’s complements every where you go , she is a cheap date, and she will take you any where you want to go, even though at times, it can be a bumpy ride. All I can say is “NICE!”
such a rare find in this wonderful condition! jeep treasures are still out there waiting to be found.
Fantastic indeed one of the best finds I have ever seen and complete down to Spare Gas Can Holder and strap. All the military stuff is there including the M1 Garand holder on the windshield wow.
Even has the straps across the door openings [era correct passenger restraints] all this Ol Willys needs is still available [for a price] yet today. Not restoring this back to Military issue would be a big mistake.
Wonderful For Sure EEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNJJJJJJJOOOOOOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYY!!!
