041: Matt Melton’s 1970 CJ-5
My jeep was purchased new by my dad in 1970. He kept it until it was sold sometime during the years when I was a little boy. It has the 225 V6 and an original dealer installed Ramsey PTO. About 4 years ago, I found it retired on a pasture, where I acquired it. It was a total basket case.
Every bolt was replaced and everything rebuilt. I’ve done every detail, large and small back to stock including the original dash layout, decals, complete drivetrain, seats, etc. I’ve also been able to find those special V6-only items like the original gas pedal, etc. The only thing not stock is a disc brake upgrade on the front, tires/wheels, a swing-out tire carrier and the color, although it’s still a Jeep color, just a little newer; 2004 Jeep Light Khaki Metallic.

Your CJ looks great. Nice to see you were able to find your Dad’s old Jeep, back in the family. I am working on an M38A1 and your jeep is an inspiration. Great job, enjoy.
Great job, looks like you really paid attention to details. I’m sure it will be a blast to enjoy with your family.
great job, excellent story/ Jeep.
Great Restoration! I like the way your car garage has been turned into a “man cave workshop” in the process.
Wow:
