Since I was a teenager, I have always loved the looks of the Willys Pickups. I almost bought one that was crayon green with a massive grill guard. I just didn’t have the money or the means at the time. Finally, in June 2013, I found the Willys of my dreams. It was a 1958 Pickup with the original parts on it! Everything still worked, but needed much TLC. Since then, I have rebuilt the Super Hurricane engine, the brakes, the electrical, and the speedometer. My favorite thing about this pickup is hearing the Jeep stories from those who grew up with them. I almost always hear “I used to work on those” or “my dad drove one of those” and similar stories. I’m glad to be a part in the memories of so many.

Looking for, Willys Jeep Parts, Willys Jeep replacement parts, Willys Jeep body parts and much more for your 1941-1971 Willys vehicle, you have come to the right place!
Hey Rachel, I just bout a 1960 Willy’s pick up myself. Drove it home and fuel pump gave up the ghost! Waiting for replacement from Kaiser Willy’s! I see you have a Wy. plate. I’m in Casper, mind telling us your town?
I really like your 1958 dream jeep. I have a couple different keeps I’m working on right now. The 1965 kaiser inline 6 hurricane at the moment. I do agree totally with one thing you stated about your 1958 “needs much TLC”. It’s a very nice find and if you decide to let go of it, TLC or Travis Lee Carr would be glad to take it off your hands.
Hi – I have the same truck , purchased “frozen up” from the original owner, in about 1989. Since then it’s been my regular every-day ranch truck. Of course it needed the same stuff as yours. I rebuilt the engine, brakes, cooling system, etc. right away. Since then I have gone through the tranny and transfer case, converted the wipers to electric, added a heater, and a winch, replaced the glass and so on. This is my second willys truck. I have also had CJs. I grew up with these, so driving it takes me back ( I’m 69 ). Enjoy your truck and feel free to contact me if you need any help. Of course Kaiser-willys supply is your best resource for help!
Very nice! I like that you have kept the original paint.
I have been looking for tires like yours
For my CJ2A. Where could I find ta set of these tires?
Thanks,
Joe
Nice Truck Mister!
That’s what the little red headed boy in the Pizza Hut parking lot told me when he saw my ’48.
So, to you – Nice Truck Mister!
Oh, by the way – I think the custom plate says “1/2 TN WILLYS”. That truck, with the “big” 7.00 X 16 tires, was rated as a 1-ton truck.
I have a restored M38A1 that I bought in GA in 2004. About 12 years ago, we moved to KY. I aways show the jeep to any repair person of visitor to our home and have entered it in July 4th parades and military appreciation day at the ballpark. Most of these KY natives say, “I learned to drive on one of those.” Apparently there were a lot of GPW’s and old CJ’s in Kenucky. Everyone loves a jeep.
Hi Rachel!
I recently purchased a very similar truck, 1954 model, in the same condition, and need to perform similar work to bring the relic to safe operating order. I also obtained the original PTO shaft and the truck bed extender! I doubt I will ever need these accessories, but it will need brakes, carb rebuild (at least), electrical updated to 12V, tires and some of the gauges (speedometer would be good).
Starting this rather late in life at age 67, but your post has reenergized me, thanks!
