I bought this Jeep in a pile of rusty parts in 2006 at a Volunteer Fire Dept auction. Once my Dad saw that it’s service date was 5/2/42, he mentioned that his birthday was 5/25/42. He had to have it. After many repairs and a quick camo paint job he used it in parades and car shows to raise awareness for POW/MIA. Last fall, he brought the Jeep back to me with an original 9 slat grill and the title, saying that it had a better home with me. So after a frame up rebuild over the winter, we were able to enter it in the local 4th of July parade together. The GPW has become great way to spend some quality time with my Dad and my son.
