I have a 1963 Tuxedo Park painted the original Indian Ceramic. It sure looks pink to me! I bought it from a neighbor of mine @ the lake and he bought it new. He had a short driveway and used it to plow. It also has a Koenig winch. I walked by the black Jeep for years as a kid on my way to a friends house. Every kid wants a Jeep so years later (in the 1980’s) when he approached me about buying it, I did. When I got in it I was greeted by a pink dash and black seats with pink upholstery showing through. When I asked him about it he told me the dealer was unable to sell a pink Jeep in rural Maine in the 60’s and it was a hold over, couple years old when he bought it. He bought it with the stipulation that they paint it black. They sprayed over everything, including upholstery, except the dash. I used it to plow with for years and then stuck it in the back of the barn. All Mainers do that as we’re afraid to ever get rid of anything that might be useful in the future. We’re the original “hoarders” and consider it more of a lifestyle or achievement, than a problem needing intervention. My daughter turned 16 this summer and got me to get the Jeep out and to restore it back to its original pink color and pink upholstery. We did and everyone loves it. I’ll try to find some pictures of it to send along. I’m sure we must have taken some over the summer. I’m looking forward to exploring your site, regards, Rick, Skowhegan Maine.
