This is my 1966 CJ5M frame before and after frame-off restoration. The Swiss Army bought them as the Military version of the CJ-5. I am still working on it. I Hope that I’ll finish the project next year.

Dear Peider,
I have something like that here in the states. I acquired a ’64 M38A1 (at least that what I think it is)with no fording system. The electrical system had douglass type connectors. The motor has an MD ser# on top of the water pump and was painted a sea green. I did not know a CJ5M existed. Thanks for the info.
Drop me an email and I would love to share pictures. gw52fire@aol.com

Hi,
I’ve started also my restoration of a suisse CJ5 from 1966
I bought it 2 months ago and started with disassembling parts. The body is still on the chassis…I’m planning to seperate it in spring next year.
Maybe a good idea to share some info about the restoration process.
My personal email is werner.boons@gmail.com
If you like I can send you a picture. ..at least if you want to share your email address
