1956 CJ-5 body, axles, T-90 and Spicer 18. 1958 Engine. 1969 CJ5. Windshield. Total frame off restoration. A majority of the parts were purchased from you guys. This Jeep would not be possible without Kaiser Willys Auto Supply. Thank you Mike for all the advice! I purchased the Jeep for $1500 in rural Alabama in February 2011. I drove it until August 2011 when I submerged the Jeep in 3 feet of mud and water. I then decided to do a full frame off restoration. I planned on spending 2 years on the restoration. Once I got down to a bare frame I received orders to move to Hawaii ( I am an Army Officer). So in 9 months I disassembled and rebuilt the entire jeep alone. When I went to register the Jeep with the Georgia DMV before shipping it to Hawaii, I discovered that my Jeep had been stolen in 1964. That is why my original bill of sale had the wrong Serial number, make, model, etc. Thankfully the Columbus, GA police Dept was very kind and realized the complaint had been made 4 decades ago. The Jeep finally arrived in Honolulu this week!
Yeah Ian! I’m proud of you for all the hard work and taking the Jeep to completion. It’s a great story!
Love,
Mom
