This rare 1965 Kaiser-built CJ-5 was originally a U.S. Navy Fire Jeep that was used on docks and/or in shipyards. It was originally “fire engine” red. The divided tilt-out windshield is the most obvious difference between it and other CJ-5s. (The Army equivalent is the Model M38A1 built from 1951-68.)
The black dog’s name is KAI. The Jeep pink slip lists the manufacturer as KAISJ. Therefore the license plate is KAISJ for “Kai’s Jeep”. How many dogs have their own Jeep?
Kai and Nannette Jeepin’ near our home. Note the “Indian Paintbrush”
Hi David and Nannette, Happy to See your Jeep here, cool, David and I went to Santa Ana High School together way back in 1960, both into Jeeps.
Very nice looking military Jeep! Where did you get the gun mount? Is that MG a cal 30 or cal.50? I have a 1955 Army Jeep, model M38A1. Lots of fun to show local Vets, drive in parades, travel thru the neighbor hood! etc here in Loveland, Colorado USA. We have about 70 Vets from WW II, Korea and Vietnam plus some of the younger Vets from Iraq and Afghanistan! This group meets at Widow McCoys restaurant on US 34 West for coffee and breakfast every Saturday morning at 7:30. Bunch of early birds! What a great group! Our Hero’s!
Displayed my Jeep and my collection of GOLD plated Commemorative weapons from WW II and Armed Forces. ie 50th Anniversary of WW II Victory. (M16 cal 5.56mm, M1 Garand cal 30-06, M1 Carbine cal.30 and Thompson SUB MG cal .45) These vets carried these famous weapons in to battle! Foot note: They carried Govt Issue not Collector Commeratives Gold Plated like mine). I kidded them about that!
